XOn 12 March 2026, an X user with the nickname Хeльдзя (@Heldzya) published the following post:
“I went on Facebook. I read a post by Tetiana Danylenko where, for some reason, she calls Come Back Alive the ‘Chmut Foundation.’ And she generalizes the largest charitable foundations in Ukraine as ‘luxury foundations.’ I left Facebook.”
In this post, the user referred to Tetiana Danylenko, a journalist with Ukrainska Pravda.
The comments under the post contained statements with signs of technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV). In particular, the journalist was called a “pretty but crazy woman,” “madam,” “media whore,” and a “Poroshenko journalist,” apparently referring to the fact that she previously worked for Channel 5, which belonged to former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. Such rhetoric contains elements of gendered disinformation and reputational attacks through political labeling and the baseless attribution of political bias.

In addition, social media users engaged in sexualized harassment, discussing Tetiana Danylenko’s personal life, past relationships, and alleged sexual relationships. The following statements were directed at her:
- “She was never smart.”
- “Danylenko herself is called ‘Lady Pora,’ you know why. So it’s not surprising. She’s not much of a journalist either.”
- “If someone asked me what should be placed in the Paris Chamber of Standards as the ultimate example of a stupid cunt, I would without hesitation suggest Tanya ‘boobs on Ukrainska Pravda’s YouTube’ Danylenko. Never mind.”
This case demonstrates signs of technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV), including misogynistic hate speech, sexist insults, online defamation, gendered disinformation, and sexualized online harassment directed at journalist Tetiana Danylenko. The sexualized attacks are unrelated to her professional activity and represent a typical form of TFGBV in which a woman journalist is discredited through references to her gender, appearance, or private life. The cumulative effect of such comments creates a hostile online environment, increases psychological pressure, and may negatively affect the journalist’s professional reputation and participation in public debate.
