The NGO “Women in Media”, in cooperation with the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, has launched a gender audit of the institution.

The audit is being conducted on the basis of the Order “On conducting a gender audit at the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine” dated 8 June 2026, in implementation of the Operational Action Plan for the implementation of the State Strategy for Ensuring Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men until 2030, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 2 May 2025 No. 439.

Inaugural meeting of the Working Group on conducting a gender audit at the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, 9 April 2026

The State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine is the central executive authority that ensures the formation and implementation of state policy in the fields of foreign broadcasting, promotion of Ukraine abroad, and safeguarding the country’s information sovereignty. It also participates in shaping and implementing state policy in the areas of media, information, and publishing.

A working group has been established to conduct the audit, comprising staff of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine and independent experts. It is chaired by Bogdan Chervak. The working group also includes analyst Olena Suslova and Head of the NGO “Women in Media” Liza Kuzmenko.

The audit will examine the institution’s internal policies and documents, HR processes, decision-making system, and mechanisms for ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men, as well as other aspects of the organization’s activities from a gender equality perspective.

The gender audit is being conducted with the support of International Media Support (IMS) as part of the NGO “Women in Media” project, “United for Equality in Media: Promoting Gender Equality through Cooperation between Civil Society Organizations, Media, and Public Authorities.”

In 2025, with the support of International Media Support (IMS), the NGO “Women in Media” conducted an independent gender audit of Suspilne Broadcasting. The audit covered the company’s internal policies and documents, organizational structure, remuneration system, decision-making procedures, monitoring mechanisms, as well as the results of a survey of 521 employees. Based on the findings, recommendations were developed for further implementation of gender equality and non-discrimination principles in the broadcaster’s operations.
