People’s Deputy from the pro-presidential Sluga Narodu [Servant of the People] Party, Mariana Bezuhla, shared information about Svitlana Ostapa on her official Facebook page. The posts claimed that “the salary of the chairman of the Supervisory Board of NCRTB is about UAH 200,000” and that “the son of the chairman of NCRTB, Svitlana Ostapa, Oleksandr, works at Suspilne and is exempt from mobilization.”

Svitlana Ostapa refuted these claims, clarifying that all members of the Supervisory Board of Suspilne work on a voluntary basis, unlike members of supervisory boards of other joint-stock companies. She also stated that her son, Oleksandr Ostapa, does not work at Suspilne and, therefore, cannot be exempted from mobilization there.

“This is not the first time my eldest son has been attacked because I head the Supervisory Board of Suspilne. When the company was downsizing (2018-2019), those who were fired spread false information on social media about my son and my “sky-high” salaries. Reform is not an easy task, but I am holding on. I think I’ve become even more resilient. It’s just unfortunate that I have to spend time refuting lies. I have also become more demanding of employees’ compliance with the company’s rules and regulations. It gives me a sense of security,” Svitlana Ostapa said in her comment to Women in Media.
