Blogger Myroslav Oleshko, who is accused of illegally crossing the Ukrainian border in an attempt to evade mobilization, published a post on his Telegram channel on August 30, 2025, targeting the journalist Sofiya Sereda from Ukrainska Pravda. Sharing a screenshot of Sereda’s Facebook post about her question to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Oleshko accompanied it with the following text:

“The UP journalist is outraged not that not all men are allowed to leave the country, but that Zelensky even allowed boys aged 18-22 to travel abroad. Since this little girl can leave, she is against others leaving. She believes that boys should be kept in reserve in case they are needed as cannon fodder. The most cynical part is that the UP journalist didn’t ask Zelensky why he hides the military in the marshes and why, 200 meters from them, the police are arresting local residents who came out to protest.”

Oleshko’s post contains signs of sexism and misogyny, as well as manipulations based on invented claims not supported by evidence — for example, the statement that “boys should be kept in reserve in case they are needed as cannon fodder.” This assertion is clearly the blogger’s own interpretation and has nothing to do with the journalist’s actual beliefs.
