FacebookInvestigative journalist Olena Mudra reported that on March 9, 2023, discrediting posts appeared in the Facebook communities Uzhhorod and Vynohradiv from an unknown user with the nickname Eszter Balog. These posts distorted details of her work and personal life, particularly information about her family and parents — data that, according to Mudra, could not have been obtained from public sources.
Olena Mudra links the appearance of these posts to the release of her investigation into the activities of the State Environmental Service of Zakarpattya and personnel changes within the institution. She also notes that this is not the first instance of strangers collecting and distributing personal data about her family in an attempt to apply pressure.
