Olena Mudra - attack 25.06.2025

On June 25, 2025, a Facebook user named Marik Fedirko posted an announcement about a so-called “eco-LGBT assembly” allegedly planned for June 29 on Polonyna Runa in Zakarpattia. The event was also covered by a local outlet, “Novyny Zakarpattia”.

The post claimed that journalist Olena Mudra — known for reporting on environmental damage caused by energy projects — was among the organizers. However, Mudra denied the event’s existence, calling it fabricated and a deliberate smear aimed at discrediting both her and the environmental community.
She wrote on Facebook:

“Our community immediately sensed that the LGBT theme — a trigger in conservative Zakarpattia — would be used to discredit us and the very idea of protecting not just Polonyna Runa but the entire highlands. That’s why we tried to ignore these trolls and asked our supporters to do the same. I blocked them altogether.”
