Nastya Horpinchenko - attack 26.11.2024

Nastya Horpinchenko, an investigative journalist for Slidstvo.info, filmed a story titled “Escape, Pretend to Have a Heart Attack — Lawyers Advise How to Evade Mobilization and Flee Abroad.” The story covers lawyers who have gone abroad and offer advice to Ukrainian men with a travel ban on how to cross the border during wartime conditions.

In the comments to that video, sexist statements and instances of hate speech were recorded. For example, the journalist was addressed as: “Lady,” “Pretty Komsomol girl,” “Madame waving her hands a lot,” “magazine girl,” and similar terms.

In addition, discrediting narratives and gender disinformation were spread, such as:

“Everything is much simpler. The author of the story is a feminist. She expresses her hatred of men through such stories. The usual grant-eating feminists boil down to the banal “all men are jerks,” and all other “smart topics” are just money-making schemes.”
