Maryna Mukhina - attack 26.04.2025

On April 26, 2025, a post appeared on Starobelsk Aidar.site Telegram channel mentioning freelance journalist Maryna Mukhina. The post contains signs of hate speech and sexualized harassment, specifically addressing the media woman as: “unwashed stupid cunt Mukhina,” “crested Cunt-bilsk cloaca,” “shit-eaters from Telegazeta” (referring to the media outlet where Maryna Mukhina previously worked).

Maryna Mukhina, who left Starobilsk in Luhansk region after the full-scale war began, informed Women in Media that similar posts have appeared in the said Telegram channel before. For example, she was referred in earlier posts like “bigmouthed frog with dirty hair,” “foolnalist,” “stupid provincial Nazi sucking up from foreign media junk piles,” and so on.

“Posts of that kind started emerging here and there in April 2022, after I attended an anti-Russian rally. They saw me in a video and spread the news, calling to ‘denazify’ me. Later, they started tracking my activities,” said Maryna Mukhina.
