Kateryna Kobernyk - attack 11.11.2025

On 11 November 2025, a post authored by former journalist Volodymyr Boyko appeared on the Telegram channel “Zapysky Paskvilianta”. The post targeted Kateryna Kobernyk, the editor-in-chief of the media outlet Babel, and was published under the hashtag #media_whores. The post was subsequently shared on other Telegram channels, including Kontrol UA.

The post contains clear indicators of online attacks, including sexism, hate speech, gendered disinformation, sexualized harassment, and online defamation. The following expressions were used against Kateryna Kobernyk and the media outlet she works for:

“worthless mangy cunt”
“media whore”
“was forced to leave journalism due to professional incompetence”
“the disgraceful outlet Babel”

The text also insinuates that Babel is still financed by oligarch Ihor Kolomoiskyi, and includes further sexualized insults directed at Kateryna Kobernyk, such as: “as she used to suck Kolomoiskyi off, she still sucks him off with both cheeks”

The post concludes with an implicit threat: “I see no reason why, with my help, K. Kobernyk shouldn’t follow the same path as Shabunin — from Facebook to the defendant’s bench.”
