Hromadske journalist Diana Butsko posted a report on YouTube from the town of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. In the comments below this video, YouTube users left comments containing sexism, sexual hints, insults, and threats, including:

  • “She should have her hair cut. Did she go there to show her beauty? That’s not the right place to show your hair loose.”
  • “After the years as a road prostitute, she’s not afraid of anything”
  • “She really wants to meet a Russian guy”
  • “Can you imagine what she’s like in bed”
