Olha Bulkovska - attack 20.01.2025

Olha Bulkovska, a journalist for the Volyn edition of Rayon.in.ua, received a threatening email warning of a possible series of explosions.

“I’m informing you that I have planted explosive devices in your building. I have realized that I am ready to take revenge on everyone. There will be many corpses scattered around the city. For a long time, I was tormented by doubts, a hostage to my own ideas. But I have made my final decision: I will make a series of explosions that will bring the building down like a house of cards,” the letter states.

In her comment to Detector Media, Olha Bulkovska noted that she had informed representatives of the SSU Department in the Volyn region about the threats but did not file an official report with law enforcement agencies:

“Yes, there may be a real danger behind this, as our enemy is a terrorist. Of course, threats cannot be ignored. However, this message seems more like an attempt at intimidation aimed at affecting my moral and psychological state. If you analyze the style, it appears to have been written by an inept manipulator. I believe my email address was included in a mailing list since it is publicly available on the websites where I worked.”
