The 10th Donbas Media Forum will host a two-day conference “Women Leaders in Media”, organized by the NGO Women in Media in cooperation with the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF) and with the support of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany under the #CivilSocietyCooperation.
The Forum will take place on 9–11 October 2025. The location will be shared with all registered participants.
Day 1. The Leadership of the Future: Women in Media and the New Rules of the Game
9 October, 15:30–16:30, Main Stage
A panel discussion on the conditions women in leadership positions in Ukrainian media are working under: war, security challenges, mobilization, and emigration. Women often face low salaries and double burdens due to childcare and family responsibilities. Female media professionals are exposed to online attacks, digital violence, sexism, and discrimination.
At the same time, women leaders are transforming the media, and now is the moment to rewrite the rules of the game.
Discussion points:
- What kind of leadership opens new opportunities?
- How to eradicate sexism and online attacks?
- What social guarantees should be ensured for women leaders — from parental leave and childcare support to assistance during menopause?
How engaging men in advancing equality can amplify the impact of media transformation.
Day 2. The Media of the Future: Combating Violence, DEI Policies, and AI Tools

14:10–15:10 — Workshop: “Why Media Needs DEI Policies and How to Implement Them: A Practical Case of the Public Broadcaster” (by UA:PBC).
16:10–17:40 — Workshop: “AI Tools for Information Gathering and Verification: A Gender Perspective” (by Ukrainian OSINT agency Molfar).
