“Artificial Intelligence in Media Work: OSINT Tools, Fact-Checking, Policies, and Protection Against Online Attacks”

Artificial intelligence can both support and harm media work — it is also used for online attacks and gender-based violence. How to verify and detect fakes, search for people by photos, monitor publications, identify gender-based violence, and use AI responsibly — this webinar is tailored for journalists and media professionals.

Webinar Program

  1. Introduction to the use of AI tools for information gathering and verification, with a gender-based lens. Topics include:
  • General AI-powered information aggregators for individuals
  • Tools for searching individuals by photo
  • Tools to check whether an image is AI-generated
  • Fake account verification
  • Tools for monitoring media and social media publications
  • Gender-based violence using AI targeting journalists, activists, and women in politics

  1. The media regulator’s position on the use of AI in the media sector. Speaker: Maksym Onoprienko, Member of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine.
  2. Recommendations for the responsible use of AI in the media. Speaker: Oleh Dubno, Head of the AI Division, Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
  3. Why is an editorial policy on AI use important for media outlets?
